1. welcome + introduction

I started journaling during my freshman year of college. My best friend journaled, so naturally I wanted to start. I like doing the things my friends do out of admiration for them. I love trying new things, and trying the new things my friends are doing is a great way to be exposed to new things. Sometimes, doing new things can be daunting, so doing it with someone you trust is comforting. Anyways, I don't journal in the traditional sense of daily reflection or writing about my challenges. My entries are formatted like this: three affirmations, a quote, and a bible verse. This is what works for me and what is a sustainable habit for me. That's what this blog is all about- finding what is sustainable for you and always remembering consistency over perfection.

My first experience with journaling was bullet journaling. It was the trend of 2017. My YouTube history was exclusively videos about bullet journaling. I stayed consistent with the practice for almost a year until I abandoned it. I have ADHD, so this cycle of obsession to abandonment is not out of the norm for me. To break out of this cycle, I had to find a journaling practice that was sustainable for my goals and my lifestyle. That's the only way you can be consistent with anything.

I'll keep this introduction short and sweet. Here at The Wellness Project, we prioritize consistent and sustainable habits that improve your life. Follow along for my thoughts and experience on fitness, pop culture, diets, and social media trends. See you in the next post :)
